A few days ago I was sharing about C-Section Guilt and some ways to cope with it, and I mentioned the use of affirmations. In fact, it’s not the first time – or the last time – that I’ve used this word. Affirmations can be life changing. Especially when you’re going through something challenging. I’m guilty of not using them when I need them the most – but that’s why I wanted to share some great affirmations for c-section moms.
“My baby’s birth and our story is amazing because it is our own.”
“I am a mother because of my love for my child, not because of how I gave birth.”
“I am thankful that my baby can be born safely in this way.”
“Sometimes life happens and plans are broken. I am strong enough to adapt.”
“I will embrace the choices that I make because I make them out of love.”
“Birth is amazing, no matter how it happens.”
“The way I birth won’t matter, we have a whole life together.”
“I am prepared for whatever birth my body and baby need.”
“I trust my care team to keep me and my baby safe.”
“My incredible body has been strong enough to be a safe home for my baby.”
“My body is not broken.”

Postpartum recovery is so hard, especially if you’re recovering mentally, too. Birth doesn’t always go as planned. That’s why these affirmations are so important to me. They remind me that I am human and it’s okay to be. They remind me that my body is capable and I am capable.
I’m going to be writing these down in my journal and planner and you should too. C-Section or not! Which affirmation is your favorite?
