Bath time feels like the only time I truly get alone to relax right now. Being pregnant is so much more exhausting than I thought it was going to be. And the truth is, everyone on Instagram is basically a liar about pregnancy.. sorry!! When I got my Bump Box in the mail a couple of weeks ago (read the full review here) it came with something I was really excited to try: Glow Organics 9 – Relax + Naturals Bath Soak – and hopefully it would up my bath-time experience!
A lot of people tell you not to take too many baths when you’re pregnant – but I want to bust that myth right here, right now. The only thing that’s truth about this is that you shouldn’t let your body temperature exceed 102.2 while you are pregnant. So as long as your bath is hot tub hot (which most aren’t) you’re good to go.
Here are a couple sources that remind you it’s safe to take baths:
- This link even has the studies to back it up! https://consumer.healthday.com/fitness-information-14/misc-health-news-265/most-exercise-hot-baths-should-be-safe-during-pregnancy-study-finds-731520.html
I wanted to start with this piece of information before I dove into a review that definitely requires the use of a bath tub because some may not know about these facts! This is why I always research before I do anything 🙂
Glow Organics 9 – Relax + Natural Bath Soak Review
All mommies need their own “me” time, even if their babies haven’t popped out yet and won’t for a while. That’s why I was super excited to get this bath soak in my subscription box. Let’s talk about the pros and cons:
Pros and Cons:
Con – The bath soak smells pretty nice, but since I’m already an essential oil user, I know that it’s not as strong as I would have preferred it. This can be considered a good thing because most pregnant woman are sensitive to smells. For me, it just wasn’t enough and the smell wore off within a few minutes.
Pro – The bath soak melted quickly and didn’t leave that gritty texture that most salts leave in the bottom of the bath. I was pretty thankful for this because scrubbing the bath tub is almost my least favorite thing to do.
Pro – For the few minutes that I could smell and enjoy the soak, I loved it. I know that if I wasn’t already an essential oil user, I’d love this product even more.
I did enjoy this soak a lot – it just wasn’t as strong as I wish it would be. But as I said, that’s what makes it safe for pregnant woman, so I understand it. It was used up fairly quickly since I bathe every night and I even paired it with a couple candles and a face mask on Thanksgiving night as part of my mega relax moment.
I would definitely recommend this product to woman that are scent sensitive, as in smelled wonderful but was not overbearing . I love that the ingredients are vegan-friendly as well, and I’d would totally use it again if it were supplied to me.
Overall, I’d give Glow Organics 9 – Relax + Natural Bath Soak a 3/5 stars. It’s definitely not something I would go out of my way to buy, but I would use it again if the offer presented itself.
